   Flamingo Hilton
   Flamingo Hilton
The Hilton name has already been taken off the Flamingo Hilton property towers.
The only thing that really remains visable on the outside that it is a Hilton property is the famos Hilton "H" logo incorparated in a neon color burst on the corner of the two towers where they meet. But you have to know what your looking at.

Inside the hotel still has Hilton on everything. I guessing that new chips will be issued also, as the current ones, also have the Hilton name on them.

Does this mean that Hilton sold the Flamingo? I'm confused.

No, It's a Park Place property and they are just droping the Hilton Brand name. I understand they pay a heavy price to use the name. This is a cost cutting measure.
I asked my girl what impact the loss of the Hilton Name will have on me staying there. Her reply, "none"!
I understand the Reno and Laughlin Flamingos will lose the Hilton Brand too.

Cathy,
Your correct, most of us just call it the Flamingo. It's probably a reason Park Place feels it won't matter with the logo removed. However, it might actully help straighten out a problem.....you have no idea how many people I've seen try to check-in at the Flamingo Hilton, when they actully held reservations at the Las vegas Hilton. With the Hilton logo off,it will end some confusion for first time LV travelers, I think.

Will you still be able to get the upgrade and VIP check-in with the Hilton Honors Club? That was a REAL perk on our last trip!

Julie,
Well, I don't know for sure. But you'll still be intitled to use vip check-in because of your Flamingo slot card (casion rate). That's the way I understand it. As for the upgrades, I won't have a problem with it, I was told. How that will effect others, I'm not quite sure.
I know at Ballys you don't get all the perks from the Hilton card. The Hilton points, don't really matter to me, as the max you could collect was always low at the resort properties.
This will be an "interesting", change to say the least.
Then you know, just because I was told it won't effect me, doesn't mean it won't. It wouldn't be the first time the front line employees where told something that wasn't 100% true, by managment. So for now, I'm going to take a wait & see approach.
