   Looking for discount Vegas Glassware
   Looking for discount Vegas Glassware
OK with vegas residents and experts on here Im hoping someone can help.

I have a team doing fund raising for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life and we are using casino's as our theme, since we are Team Casino. One of our fund raisers is a goblet coin pitch and I need to locate cheap glassware and would love to find glassware with Vegas hotels or casinos.

Anyone know of a clearance store around vegas that may have CHEAP glassware? Now I am sorry I never kept all those Riveria coffe mugs over the years.

Ed, You know I think the casino stopped placing their logos and names on ash trays, cocktail glasses, coffee mugs a long time ago because everyone took them home as souvenirs.

Even match-books are hard to find now-a-days.

I'm not too sure about this but there are a few warehouses around town that sell old and used hotel room furniture and sometimes they also sell the incidentals such as you seek, but I have yet to see anything such as you desire due to its collector item value.

I move around a lot so I'll keep my eyes and ears open.

BTW .... a month or so ago the Wynn Dot Com had an open sale in one of their ballrooms within the convention area and they were offering tons of hotel items and hotel store clothing items,

These items included dishware and every sort of cocktail glass imaginable, but nothing with the hotel logo imprinted. And the clothing items looked to be like every item they could not sell in those fancy stores they got.

Have you tried contacting the individual hotels to see if they would be willing to help with a worthy cause? I used to do that and would get a good number of free rooms throughout the year in exchange for promotional consideration which meant a word of thanks on various posters or announcements from the stage,

If the above doesn't work, you might try checking out The World's Largest Souvenir Store at Sahara and the Strip. They have cheapo stuff there. Good luck! Hope you find free instead of just cheap. smile

I'm not really sure how you plan to do this because I'm not that familiar with the game. Obviously people will toss coins to try to get them to land in the glass. Do they win the glass meaning you'll need lots of glasses to restock the game or is there a prize in the glass or is there a note saying what prize they won?

In addition to the previous replies, my answer is as easy as ABC. Yep, if you want cheap Vegas related items, this is the place to go. The ABC stores. I don't know if they have specific hotel related glasses. They would definitely have Vegas related glasses. And they would have Vegas related accessories to enhance your booth, such as a beach towel or posters with Las Vegas scenes. I was in an ABC store this week and was looking at generic Las Vegas poker chips thinking they would be cute in the right situation.

I have about a dozen hurricane style glasses from the Sahara that I would donate to you. They are pretty and glossy and have the Sahara logo. I'll give them to you here. It would be up to you to get them back to Michigan. They look cute on their own. You can't hardly see the logo when you put a bunch of them together. They are kinda fragile. The Sahara currently sells drinks in the showroom in a smaller colorful stemmed glass. I think drinks are $6. I'd think somebody at the Sahara could cut you a deal for glass only.

There are a bunch of little gift shops between the Harley Davidson Cafe and the Showcase Mall. They used to have really cheap stuff. I don't know if their prices have gone up since the area has developed.

It looks like you have work cut out for you and have a theme for your next trip. Happy treasure hunting.

Thanks for the idea's.

JMT, they do win the glass if the coin lands in them. A couple glasses will win the individual a "special" prize. I have a couple 300 piece chips sets as the special prizes. I appreciated the offer of the Sahara glasses but would be concerned if they that "fragile". With coins flying I have to be careful.

I will check out each of the stores on the next trip. I have written most of the casino's to ask for donations and so far have not been very successful. But, no matter what we will raise funds for a great cause.

Ed

I was at the ABC Stores in the Riviera tonight. They didn't have much selection, and prices weren't that great.

Ed, Most logo casino glassware I've found has been $10 and up. I wasn't sure if you were interested in generic Las Vegas glasses and mugs. Just something with Las Vegas and a pair of dice and not hotel specific generally run $3.99 to 8.99.

If you're okay with Las Vegas generic coffee mugs, I saw some for 99 cents. It was at one of those little shops across from the Monte Carlo. I took a picture and will post it for you.

There was another place in the Hawaiian Marketplace that had a big 99 cent sign with shot glasses under it, but the next shelf down had regular glasses and mugs.

I plan to be near the Sahara next week, and I'll check out the big gift shop.

BTW. when is the event? When are you coming out?

My trip this quarter had to be postponed since I bought a house a couple weeks ago. Had a friend pick up a few items for me couple weeks ago o his trip and it looks like we are set for the June 4th-5th Relay for Life. We have come up with over 100 glasses from various sources.

Our goblet pitch should be successful. I also obtained a number of 300 piece poker chip sets to use as prizes for the "special" glasses. Caesars Windsor also donated a free nights stay for us to auction off. I added a Harrah's gift card, tokens and a nice Caesars leather duffle bag (my 2010 Diamond level gift)to make a nice package.

I want to ensure my team, "Team Casino" meets it's goal ($5000) as originally I was asked to change the name as it might be offensive to the American Cancer Society. I refused! But, I did purchase numerous decorations to help reinforce the theme casino. Our slogan is "Don't Gamble With Your Health". We also originally included "Gamble Responsibly in a Casino" in the slogan, but was forced to remove that part.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I will post the fund raising results after the event.

Well Team Casino did well for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. The dime pitch into glasses was a hit. We raised an additional $800 the day of Relay (even with a three hour rain evacuation). The team raised $5,188 in total and the casino decorations were a hit with the participants.

Thanks again for everyones suggestions for the glasses. Now I have a year to plan again.

Thanks Ed. It sounds like things went quite well. I hope it's even better next year.
