   I Lose Hats!
   I Lose Hats!
I think I must have a lost hat in every casino in town!

I should say 'baseball cap' with military insignias or US flags on the front.

I've been collecting them for years!

And losing them even longer.

And they ain't cheap! At least $18 per hat.

But recently I discovered Broadacres Swap Meet in North Las Vegas in the vicinity of Las Vegas Blvd and Pecos.

And it's something that every LV visitor should see at one time or another (Fri/Sat/Sun only).

Need very inexpensive stuff? You'll find it here at Broadacres .... 40 outdoor acres of inexpensive stuff to browse or buy in an outdoor environment that will only cost about a buck to enter.

They got just about any kind of stuff and most ot it is new stuff,

$4 sunglasses.
Real inexpensive, brand name shorts and socks.
Jewelry ... Some diamonds even!
Handbags.
T-shirts of every description. Even Tap-Outs!
Household appliances.
TV's, radios, air-conditioners, and living room couches.
Carpets and rugs and little couches for little kids.
Multi-level-marketing products.
Dice and cards and gambling stuff.

They got way too much new stuff to keep on listing here! You name it, they got it!

But most importantly - they got caps!

Caps that say anything worth saying on a cap!

And each cap is only $5 per.

So now I can keep on losing caps without too many worries.

I suggest you give Broadacres a visit someday. It's an interesting place and you'll find something you've always wanted at a bargain price that you can't turn down.

I'm heading there now to buy a baseball cap, unless I find it before I get in the car.

Have you checked out the other flea markets in town? There are at least 2 other major ones in town. One is indoors and that sounds like a plus. It would be interesting if you did a comparison.

I get my hats at the ABC store for about $5.

JMT, YES!

There is the indoor one called Fantastic at Decatur and Oakey which I've been to a number of times. Parking never seems to be a problem there.

Here's some of the 'stuff' I've purchased at Fantastic over the past year and a half.

Belts, gym bags, socks, toe nail clippers, magic tricks, poker chips, wallets, cell phone cases, sun-glasses, and baseball caps. All within the $4 - $10 range

The baseball caps in Fantastic are embroidered there and much more expensive than the caps at Broadacres but I have yet to find a military cap that impressed me as much as the ones I see for $5 at Broadacres.

It's difficult for me to offer price comparisons though because I always know what I'll be looking for, so I rush in and buy it and then rush right back out; unless I am showing guests around the place - then we usually walk up and down each aisle.

Every time I go through Fantastic I stop and take a close look at those electronic picture frames with the moving tropical fish. They'd be nice in a kid's room but I never took the time to buy one yet.

And I've also been somewhat impressed by those 'Oriental' table lamps that are on display in one location.

Maybe this Christmas.

And there appears to be another 'swap meet' on the east side of town along Tropicana Blvd. I pass it on the way to Eastside Cannery but I've yet to see it open..

During the summer months, it's a more pleasurable shopping experience to visit the Fantastic location because it's 'inside' and much more 'cooler' than Broadacres which is 40 acres of an outdoor shopping experience.

And parking at Broadacres can sometimes be a problem.
