GVR is making offers I can't refuse, one is 2 for 1 dinner buffet on Tuesday evenings. Two of us can dine for $21 plus tax and tip, looks like I won't be cooking dinner on Tuesday.

Now they are offering us a free nights stay, Sun-Thu, next time I have Friday off, y'all know where we will be spending the night. Use their A/C, workout in their gym, swim in their pool, get a free newspaper, get my boots shined at no charge. I know they will still charge the resort fee of $25 plus tax, but what the heck I'll make it up on their crap table.

And if I want to splurge a little more I can get a room on weekends for 40% off their regular rate.

Cajun, I hope that GVR is doing better business than it was the last time I made a visit about two months ago.

Back then it looked like there were about 8 customers in the casino. And I can recall the days when it was usually always pretty busy.

I have noticed that the local casinos such as The Orleans and The Palms appear to be more busy than usual but some insiders say it's mainly due to the summer vacationers.

And I thought summer was the slow period due to the desert heat.

What 'tactics' do you use while playing craps?

I am pretty lucky when I play blackjack but Iove the game of craps so I take those blackjack winnings and throw the dice and always lose it all.

And I do know how to play the game and all the odds involved.

Any help is appreciated.

I can tell you that last night and every weekend the place is packed with customers. Even during the week there is usually two crap tables going, at least one full and in some cases both of them full.

My recent success at the crap tables is strictly betting the don't pass and don't come. I admit I'm not the most popular guy at the table when a shooter sevens out.

I make a bet on the don't pass and I make two don't come bets and then stand back and quietly pray for the 7 to appear. My strategy is if a shooter makes the point and I lose the don't pass bet, I'll make one more don't pass with full odds and that's it, if the shooter makes the point again on the pass line I make no more don't pass bets on that shooter.

On the two don't come bets if the shooter repeats one of my don't come numbers I'll make one more don't come bet and that's it on that shooter. If the shooter continues to roll hot and wipes out all my bets I back off and just stand there and watch the roll until it's over.

Then I start the same sequence of betting on the next shooter. It takes a lot of patience to bet the don't side, I spend a lot of time just watching the game when a hot roll occurs. It can be a boring grind but I have had my best success using this method.

Back in April I started a run at the crap tables where I have been going to the tables every week at least 1-3 times a week and I have been keeping records of my win/loss sessions and in the past three months I'm up about three grand. Nice little $1000 a month income plus the comps that go along with it.

I usually make $5-$15 flat bets with 6X's the flat bet as my odds, that's the maximum GVR will allow. So my bet range with odds is $30-$90 per bet times 3 bets on the table. And by replacing two bets that get hit, I stand to lose five bets on any shooter, and sometimes that will happen. But when the dice turn cold and I hit a streak of 4-6 shooters in a row that roll three points, none repeat and seven out, that's when I rake it in and leave table. I won't give it a chance to take it back. Sometimes I have made as much as $600 in as little as twenty minutes at the table and other times I've been at the table for 2-3 hours and walk away only $30 ahead. It just depends on how the dice roll.

I need to check my own math at times...LOL. The $30-$90 is just the amount of the odds I lay, add in the amount of the flat bet and the bet range is $35-$105 per bet.
