It would be best to not even read the RJ.
The Las Vegas Review Journal has gone hog wild with law suits from people using their articles on other websites, blogs, etc. I thought this would go away after they realized how insane this was. Apparently not. They just nailed 5 more web sites.
This is real. It is not time to play water cooler lawyer and pretend you know what your rights are or tell me what they can and can not do.
I think most every instance involved copy and paste to some degree, but some just used terms they coined.
There was even a case when they picked up a story that Anthony Curtis of the Las Vegas Advisor wrote for the RJ. Later Anthony related the story on his own website and was sued.
You can read more about this on the Las Vegas Sun website. If there is news happening, it will be on websites other than the RJ, such as the Las Vegas Sun.
Since I can't afford another lawyer, TalkVegas will now remove all known references of any RJ articles. If a previous article you wrote gets removed, please do not take it personal. If a new post that even hints of RJ material gets put up, it will be removed ASAP.
It's best not to copy and paste any news articles. If an article means a lot to you, tell us about what it means to you. Don't quote it. It's not fair to the author and it is redundant to those who have read the article before. This is not QuoteVegas, it's TalkVegas<g>.
I strongly suggest not even reading the RJ. There are plenty of good sources of Las Vegas news elsewhere.
My apologies to Eric&Ellen for the removal of a story that talked about beams of light focused on the pool at Vdara. I heard in the grapevine that the RJ thinks they coined a term that was used in the title.
