Kerry's Gourmet Burgers, or KGB is a new burger place in Harrahs. Kerry, is Kerry Simon, a celebutard chef who visions himself as some kind of rock and roll guru. His burger joint is decorated in communist propaganda posters and TVs with sports on. There is also very loud hip hop/rock music playing constantly. There is a bar, bar dining, and sit down dining areas. There is a semi open kitchen where you can see the cooks working, but can't really see what they are doing. The place specializes in Vodka based drinks. Kerry was nowhere to be found.
I found service to be poor. The hostess had a hard time figuring out where to seat me at 1:30pm when the place was 20% full. She took me to a clean table, then back to the podium and made some grease pencil changes to her map, then took me to another table, then back to the podium then back to the second table again. I saw my waitress twice. Once to take my order and once to deliver the check. Both times were overdue on my time scale. Different people brought out my drinks and food and nobody came by to ask if I needed anything or how the order was or if I wanted a refill.
The menu was about what you might expect for a fancy burger joint. Several specialty burgers or build your own. I went with very basic cheeseburger and fries. The burger itself was fine and cooked to order. Nothing to write home about. The fries were greasy and hollow on the inside as if they were very overcooked at the wrong temperature.
I'm sure some people will stop in for overpriced drinks, enjoy the music, and decide to dine there, having a nice evening. I was happy to leave and don't plan on returning. And it knocked the Simon restaurant at the Palms off my to-do list.

Burger and fries were in the $10-15 range. Typical fast food burgers are cooked on a griddle and are about as thick as 3 US quarters stacked and the bun is like white bread. Most gourmet burgers come out 3 or 4 times that thickness, have an open flame char flavor, and have a homemade bun with some texture. Gourmet burgers often have better quality toppings and more variety. The gourmet burgers usually have a proportionally higher price tag. I'm not big on fast food but if you are, go for it.
I'm not impressed with the way Kerry Simon did his decor, sound system, layout, menu, theme, quality control, location, personnel, and operation of KGB. Therefore, the Simon restaurant does not intrigue me anymore.
The flavor of the burger was okay. The price was reasonable. And those are about the only two nice things I can say about it.
