I'd like to keep up Wendels get togethers, so if your going to be in town, please post here, and we'll plan something! I'm thinking LUNCH or Cocktails....

Sorry we can't make it Lee. This is the third trip we have had to cancel this year. We are going to try for March and see what happens.

I believe it was a year ago today that Wendel passed away. Does anyone ever talk to Maxine?

I talked with Maxine last week .... she's doing fine, and Wendell's kids are like her own, so she has lots of company ... not to mention a white canine bit of fluff that usually has her in stitches whenever we talk.

As much as I would like to attend, I doubt if I will be there.

However, in celebration of the wonderful times I shared with Wendell, I had dinner last night at his favorite steak house, the Cortez Room in the Gold Coast. It was very good. And I had breakfast at his favorite breakfast buffet, the French Market Buffet at The Orleans. It was short of very good.

at twenty bucks still the best bang for your buck in town??

Quite possibly. My last visit to the Prime Rib Loft in April was pretty darn good. It cost 3 more and I'm thinking it was better beef and a better overall experience. There are a lot of intangibles. I would pick one or the other based on convenience until I could nail down a tangible factor. PRL is closed on Wed-Thur. CR has my favorite appetizer...Shrimp wrapped in bacon with a sliver of jalapeno, then deep fried. Best $12 on the menu.

That's a little to early for me to slide away from work being that Tuesday is my weekly staff meeting that usually runs until 11:30. I could meet up with y'all a little later in the afternoon for a beer. Or Wednesday afternoon would work.
