Instead of spending all that money wouldn't it be a better idea to get the LA to LV train back on track? I took that train ride many times and enjoyed a meal or two and a couple of beers during that 7 hour ride through the desert, but I have no idea why they stopped that service or if that train even runs through LV on its way to SLC anymore. Is that run a bus service nowA?

Not sure now but I think that train even stopped in Victorville which was and still is the last bastion of civilization till you disembarked in the only depot in Las Vegas within a few steps of the Plaza lobby which made a 20 minute casino visit possible for those proceeding further east.
