I just received my Pocket book of Values from the Las Vegas Adviser. A few changes, no more hotel discounts in the book, they want you to check their web site for those. I also noticed that their is much less buy one get one free food items in the book. instead I see more (example) 25% of total bill up to 4 people, or $4 off dinner per person. Buffets are still mostly 2 fer 1 though. also a 20% off coupon for a tatoo, seems kind of quirky. But I know it's the thing right now, so maybe it's a deal? some free drink coupons that never thrilled me, if your gambling the drinks are free anyway, so it's a non-issue with us. lower tier shows for the most part are 2 for 1's. the mid range shows are a mixed bag. some 2fers others 25% off and some just at a discount.
over all, not a bad book, I just see the value shrinking for a couple. While I don't think I'll have trouble using enough coupons to get my subscription price out of them. it will be harder then in past years. IMHO
One last correction, they no longer call it the pocket book of values, it's now called LVA Member Rewards.

Well, because I'm not out there 6 or more times a year (like in the past), it does help keep me informed about some things that don't come up as a topic here. I did stop (receiving) it for a couple of years, When Talkvegas was busy-er! But now it sort of fills in the gaps.
I think that those discount ticket offices popping up around Vegas are also helping to kill the show discounts in the LVA. With them, the shows have more control over discounted ticket use. Instead of a printed coupon with ridged use dates, they can with the outlets offer discounts day to day.
The value has dropped for me with the coupons offered, however, I will still be able to justify the price of the LVA, with my savings on the coupons. However the margin of savings is getting slimmer. For someone coming only 4 nights a year, it's going to be even tougher!
BTW, most of the buffet coupons 2 fer 1's have the 50% off on a single person option!
