I can visualize an airline selling some cheap first class seats to a resort. I can't quite picture the casinos having enough high rollers across the country to justify another airline operating on a regular basis.
I know some airlines used to operate a charter flight to Las Vegas a couple of times per week. It was all set up by travel agencies and was on the cheap as opposed to a high roller operation with a Las Vegas vibe.
I see an existing airline spinning off a upscale division as highly unlikely because it requires a lot of money. First of all, the airline would need tons of money to do their end, the casinos would need a lot of money to subsidize the operation, and there would have to be a regular pool of potential customers with high roller status willing to fly to Vegas on their schedule.
I wish them luck. I think it would be a positive economic sign.
