   Rio Robbery
   Rio Robbery
A copy cat thief robbed the Rio casino this morning by taking a bunch of chips from a table at gunpoint.

Details are very slow to come out. At about 4:45am, a man in heavy mustache and clothing disguise walked into the Rio casino. He reached for some high denomination chips and the dealer slapped at his arm. He then pulled a gun and continued to take about $20,000 in thousand dollar chips, and many more chips of lesser denominations.

After the robbery, the man walked out of the casino, hopped in a cab and rode to Terribles. The cab driver was unaware of the robbery and has no specific clues to help capture the bandit.

There's still more questions than answers at this point.

I guess the reason the reason details were sketchy on the robbery is that detectives knew what they were doing. The bandit, the cab driver, and a third person, were all involved.

The destitute bandit, went to the Pai Gow table at the Rio to seal the $33,200 worth of chips with an unloaded gun. When he went outside, the cab he took was preplanned and the cab driver was in on the deal. The cabbie went as far as to try and put tape over the hidden camera inside the cab. The two went to Terribles and parted ways, only to meet up again with the third man to exchange the chips for cash.

The cabbie and third guy were arrested. $18,000 in chips were recovered. The bandit is still on the loose, but police know who he is. All suspects were Asian. The bandit was 55, the cabbie 62, and the buyer was 42 years old.

Hidden camera inside the cab? Do all cabs have such things?

"Hidden camera". Guess some people reading this might regret what they did in the back of cabs.

When are people going to learn that you don;t win robbing a casino. Guess they are lucky this isn't the old day's when you would end up sleeping in the desert.

After a cabbie was killed this week, I learned that all cabs have cameras and record audio as well as video. Also, they have a silent panic button that turns on a green light on top of the cab.
