What MikeD described as Yikes again, has taken a very ugly turn.

The man that was stabbed to death on the pedestrian bridge last week was being remembered at funeral home in a bad part of the city. As the mourners were leaving, a man in the crowd pulled out a gun and fired many seemingly random shots, then fled in a get away car.

7 people were shot, including one child. None of the injuries were life threatening. While the shooter is still on the loose and his description is somewhat generic, the getaway car is very vivid. Police are looking for a white mid '70s Chevy El Camino, with purple doors, and a brown #7 on each door. And it had chrome rims. Police are also looking for a mid '70s El Camino with a quick, cheap, paint job of any color.

While the initial stabbing was thought to be gang related, it's pretty much set in stone now. The man who did the stabbing remains in jail.

I remember back in the late 90's (early in my Video Poker career) I was gambling at NYNY and hit my very first royal flush on a quarter JOB machine. I was hand-paid $1000 and never had this much money in my pocket. I was nervous about that since I was staying at MGM Grand at the time and it was a long walk back to my room. And it was 2AM. I was so nervous walking across that pedestrian bridge and down the long hallway to my room at MGM Grand. It's funny how I don't get as nervous anymore, but then, I almost always play where I stay now.
