   Short Trip to LV
   Short Trip to LV
I just drove back from Las Vegas and I'll do a very short report. I'm going back for New Year's.
I drove over to Pahrump the first day, Friday because I had some business to attend to and see some friends and listen to Karaoke. We barhopped to 4 places before I found my friendly group at The Hideaway. It was great and we closed the place. Next day we headed into Vegas and the Worldmark timeshare I have. It's on South Las Vegas Blvd. They have a shuttle to take you to Caesars, but I always drive. They comped free tickets to the Frank Marino show at Imperial Palace and we went to see it Sunday night. It was ok. I saw Kenny Kerr at the Silver Slipper 15 years ago and I liked it better. My sister-in-law loved it. Saturday evening we stopped in a little restaurant, The Boulevard, south of the timeshare, It was ok but they have great Clevelamd fans there and we decided to go back for breakfast on Sunday and for some of the football games. The breakfast was great and the people were very friendly. The waitress remembered me from the night before, even though I wasn't in her station and the owners came over and made us feel special, in spite of the fact that I was wearing my Steeler's jersey! Saturday night we went to the Tuscany to see David van Such and he was fabulous as always! He makes that sax talk to me! He was joking around and he would keep referencing the fact that I had driven 350 miles to hear him play and then he'd dedicate a song to me. Among them 2 of my favorites, Europa and When A Man Loves A Woman. Fantastic! Sunday morning I checked out the South Point which I'd heard good things about but I wasn't impressed enough to waste my calorie alotment on the buffet so went to The Boulevard instead. Breakfast was super! We caught the art exhibit at Bellagio. Gorgeous! I was disappointed that the Conservatory was being changed for the transition from Thanksgiving to Christmas. But we will see it when we go back for New Years. Sunday I found several tv's in different places to watch football. I run a football pool so . . . Sunday night we watched the game in the Imperial Palace before the show. Go Steelers! I know this is jumping around and jumbled but that's kinda what my trips are like. And my life too. I'll try to do better next time. Viva Las Vegas!

You did GREAT!
Thanks for taking the time to share a report with us.
It's funny, you bounce around, and as i get older, I do less and less each trip. You sure did pack a lot into a weekend, WAY TO GO!

It sounds like you had a great time. And you get around alot too. I haven't seen David Van Such in years. I need to swing by there and catch his show again. I kinda like when the Conservatory is in transition and you get a sneak peek at how they do all that stuff.

Is the Boulevard across from the Southpoint? I think that I've seen it but never went inside.

Thanks for the trip report. You did a fine job. And I look forward to your New Years Adventures!

I like the Conservatory all the time and you're right it's good to see how they can transform it. I had my sister-in-law with me and the last time we were there was for Chinese New Year so she was looking forward to the Christmas display but I promised her that we will be stopping there to see it and our friend Bruce Zarka on our New Year's Eve trip. David van Such is just as great as ever. You should stop and see him. He's been at The Tuscany for 16 months, 6 nights a week. Quite an unusual thing these days. Yes, the Boulevard is across from the South Point. My friend Monica had said she liked the South Point so I wanted to check it out but I wasn't impressed. Not when M is just down the road or Wynn or Encore are beckoning. I wasn't overly impressed with dinner at The Boulevard but the breakfast was excellent. The friendliness in the place is great but I generally feel that way about most of the wait staff in Vegas. I find them to be friendly when I am.
