Has anyone tried using www.hotwire.com? We're going in April (2-6) and I put those dates it and was offered a 4 star hotel on the strip for $390 including taxes for 4 nights. I haven't booked yet, but I was wondering for feedback on this. It works like Priceline...they give you a price w/out the name of the hotel then you decide how flexible.

Also anyone know what hotels on the strip are 4 stars?

rcb, I'd be concerned what they think is a 4 star hotel? devide that up and it's a coast of almost $100 a night. Ballys you should be able to get cheaper then that, Maybe even Paris or MGM. I doubt very much they are going to be giving you the Venetian or the Bel!
I've always stayed away from these types of deals, afraid I'd end up with the Holiday Inn Boardwalk or something similar.
If you do try it, I'd be very interested in what you get.

I agree with Lee by some tour groups the Imperial Palace is considered a 4 star hotel, and you can book them off their website for $42 a night.

Yes, I am concerned about the hotel. For instance, NYNY is not worth it any any price, although some might feel that's a nice hotel. The hook on this offer was that we didn't have to pay more for the Friday night stay.

We already are booked at TI, but I thought I'd keep looking and was curious if anyone had ever tried this. No recommendatoins mean I won't try it.

I would request the North Tower, the South Tower is a long hike. This might not be available for North Tower, or they might tack on some.

Looks like a pretty good offer. I have stayed at GN, it is pretty nice. I don't play slots, but the people we went with do and they said the slots were very tight. I personally can testify that the craps tables were cold!

Sipsey, we were at the Nugget in early Feb and felt the slots in downtown general were as tight as tight could get. I found the slots looser at the GN than anywhere else. Translated, I lost my money slower at the Nugget.
The week after we returned, our freinds were going to the GN on a junket with 30 others. I warned them about the slots and they confirmed the same on return.
We talked with some people at the airport who stayed on the strip and went downtown for a day and they told me they thought the slots were extremely tight compared to what they were finding on the strip.

Chris, that squares with my friends' experience. He lost a bundle at GN and went to Bellagio to make it up. Same company, but different location. Go figure.

E-Mail offer 2 free nights at Harrahs March 10-12 offer is nontransferable. They realllly limit the dates.
