Resort rooms are bigger and offer a nicer view. I've only stayed in these and haven't seen a standard room. However my sister has and I'll ask her. She has seen both types of rooms.

When we stayed, check-in was a disaster. However, if your an invited guest, they have a quick way to deal with that to the right of check-in. We where invited guests, but didn't know there was a seprate place to check-in for us. DUH! LOL

We stayed at the Aladdin at Christmas time. I asked for an upgrade at check in and was preparing to use the "$20 trick" but it was not necessary. We were upgraded (2 rooms) to the resort rooms for no additional charge.

Although our check in line was quite long, we had no problems.

Its a beautiful hotel but I prefer to be around the Flamingo, Bally's, Harrah's area.

Enjoy, Tom

It's worth the $20 to try for a room upgrade. I saw a standard room and while it was nice, I like more space in my room than the standard room offered. But I would not be disappointed if I was not upgraded.

I stayed there last year in a standard room. It was nice. My only complaint was the pillows. they were really uncomfortable. The check in and out line was long but it moved fast.
