Has anyone ever stayed at the San Remo? What hotels would you compare it to?

Holiday Inn Boardwalk, I'd probably put in the same group, as San Remo. Someone here really like the place. I know American Airlines sometimes puts up thier employees here when an overnite stay is required. I think other airlines use it as well.

Casino is small, but they cover all the basics. We've had some good reviews about their prime rib special. I personally, hate thier self parking garage.

Babsey,

I've never stayed there. I've played there and eaten there.

They have a decent casino with pretty good service. Restaurant has good specials that are usually pretty good.

I've heard more positive than negative about the hotel. If you don't know it's location, it's right behind the Tropicana and across the street from the MGM.

Babsey, i pretty much agree with all the above. I've been to the San Remo, their coffee shop and parking garage. From what i saw, prices quoted from many sources and reading reviews of people that have stayed there, my impression is, the hotel is marginally "o.k." but why bother.

If the reason your interested in the San Remo is the location plus room rate, the Tropicana next door is an even better location, better hotel and you can find room rates equal or better than the San Remo.

If that specific location isn't particularly important, there are many on strip and off strip hotels in the same rate catagory that are more attractive properties.

I haved stayed at the San Remo about two years ago in December. We stay there strictly because it was cheap and we know that the most of our time would be spent at the MGM gambling on football. It had a great location to MGM and the rooms were secure. I think though if you are trying to save a buck check out Excalibur rates they seem very close ot San remo maybe 10 to 20 a night difference and you get a better hotel. The San Remo is fine just for a room in Vegas but the gambling area is small there.

Bates motel? No way, that's more like the Klondike or Golden Spike.

Actually, the San Remo is fine. Nothing fancy for a room but comfortable and clean. Restaurants are nothing to brag about and the coffee shop has gone so far downhill, I won't even look at it anymore. The casino is small but has low table limits. VP pay tables aren't full pay so I stay away from those to now.

Rooms are about the what a king room at a Days Inn looks like. Good size, decent bed, fare bathroom, great price and location.

I'd stay there again if the price was right.
