Hi Tom, i'm staying out at the Hacienda, located between Boulder City and Hoover Dam, for the first night of a week long trip in March.

I'm planning on picking the car up at Alamo and making my way out to the Hacienda by way of Sunset Rd. and stopping at some of the casinos along the way, should be interesting.

Ed - hope you can make it in November. Coast Resorts put alot of money into updating the Gold Coast and it was quite evident last Nov - really a neat ballroom and the disk jockey just topped it off (along with our Talk Vegas line dancers) I am going to check the rooms, etc. out during our next visit - I think Daisy is going to check them out this month and report - hope so. Best Regards: Wendell

Sorry, Wendell, but Daisy's next trip to Las Vegas has been postponed until May, so you'll have to fill me in on the Gold Coast. smile

Jokers Wild Casino, 920 North Boulder Highway, 702-564-8100

Thanks for "mentioning" the above casino. One of my best kept little secrets, but now a "secret no mo.

For those of you who have never been to this little casino managed by the Boyde Group, just lower your expectations a bit and you'll just about feel down right at home.

It's a small place and kind of reminds me of the way things were in the Strip casinos when times much more mellow and the town was a heck of a lot younger.

I like that feeling once in a while and I love the 25 cent craps that is usually underway.

GIve them a visit soon and let us know how you liked it.

Just lower yor expections a knotch or two and you'll have a real nice time.

I stop there each and every year going to and reurning from Lake Las Vegas, just down the road a knotch or two.

Thanks!

DAG, don't be sad .. have a beersh for me. Now that I think about it, I haven't had a brew since about 1985, so you were going to have to do my share anyway. smile

Will, have you ever stopped in the Skyline Casino? I like the place (FPDW<g>), but it makes Jokers Wild look luxurious!

I enjoyed checking out the list, and I'm sorry to say I've only been in 6 of the 12 casinos mentioned .... I'll have to work on improving that this year. eek

Yes, Daisy, I have been to the Skyline but I don't recall playing Craps there.

DO they have a quarter table?

How come I always mix up the Skyline and Jokers Wild in my mind? Are they located in similar cornors a few blocks away, or what?

Who owns Skyline?

Thanks, Will800

HI Will,

If you ever look up the definition of "low roller" in the dictionary you will see a picture of me there.<g> I'm taking Ed's list with me and I'll see how many of those places I can check out. Jokers Wild will be the first.

Tom, others, interested in checking out the Rainbow Club Casino and the Eldorado Casino, located on Water St. at Atomic St. (Rd.?), but not sure where that is: It's in downtown Henderson. Water St. can be reached from Boulder Hwy. If you're traveling South bound on Boulder, the beginning of Water St. is off Boulder a little before Boulder intersects with Lake Mead Drive.

Also, traveling East bound on I-215, which automatically becomes Lake Mead Drive, you'd take a right on Water St. down around where you're getting close to Boulder Hwy.

I haven't been to downtown Henderson, didn't know where Water St. was and looked it up the other day on a full map i have, that i sent away for on the Tourist and convention center web site. The AAA map i always use didn't quite extend as far South as downtown Henderson.

Henderson City Hall is right down Water St. from Atomis St. and the Casinos.

Will, as far as I know the Skyline is an independent. LOL, you will not find quarter craps at Skyline ..or any craps table. There are 3 BJ tables in back (not necessarily open<g>); the draw here is the full pay VP, both quarters and nickels. They do have a coffee shop which serves great biscuits and gravy. smile
