Al, I have never stayed at the Luxor, but I have at the Aladdin. My wife and I really liked the Aladdin. It is still fairly new, the rooms are nice, and there is a gigantic mall attached to the place (for the shoppers or browsers of the group). The mall is also nice to wake up and stop off at one of the little coffee shops in the morning. The Spice Market buffet is excellent which is in the lower part of the complex, along with other restaurants like PF Changs, etc right on site. Not too mention the two nice sized pools they have. Hope that helps.
We too have never stayed at Luxor, but have at Aladdin. I agree with PA-cop, and add to that, depending on how often you go to Vegas, this may be the last time to ever stay at Aladdin since it will be changing to Planet Hollywood.
I'm going with everyone else here. I've only stayed at the Aladdin twice, but both times it was fantastic. I would have no problem staying there again in the future. On the other side of the coin, the Luxor is on a short list of hotels I'd like to stay at, but haven't yet. I think if your looking at just a regular room, the Aladdin would be a better choice, however I understand the Luxor has some very nice suites!

Stayed at both and the only thing I liked about the Aladdin was the buffet, and now I hear that's going downhill too.
I actually don't think that Planet Hollywood will do anything to make it any better either.
I can't explain the feeling, but I just don't feel comfortable in the casino. Anyone else feel that way?
LUXOR - Stayed at the Luxor many times but have yet to try out the newer rooms in the "Square" tower. I'd recommend it if the rates are relatively comparable to the Exclibur, NYNY, and Tropicana.
