Stardust Closes (by JMT)
On this day in 2006, the last slot was pulled, the last dice was thrown, the last Sigma Derby game was played, and the final bet was paid at the Stardust. As the casino officially closed at noon, a band led a conga line playing "When The Saints Go Marching In" and the Stardust became history. All that was left was an impending implosion and controversy over a new resort that took roots and stalled.
