Wilbur Dies (by JMT)
Wilbur Clark, who owned the Players Club on the strip, tore it down to build the Desert Inn, which opened in 1950, and sold it 6 years later after suffering a stroke, died of a heart attack on this date in 1965, at the age of 57.
